Trip to Gateway Natural Area

Come join us for a visit to Gateway Natural Area!

We will hike to Milton-Seaman Reservoir and then have a picnic.

Gateway Natural Area is where the North Fork of the Poudre River joins the main branch of the Poudre River and is the location of Fort Collins' original water filtration facility. There is a picnic area and restrooms.

We will meet at 4:00 p.m. at CSU University Village - 1600 W Plum by the office.
 
We will checkin and load up and then drive to Gateway Natural Area.
Once we arrive at Gateway Natural area we will hike up to Milton-Seaman Reservoir and then have a picnic supper.

The Milton-Seaman Reservoir is on the North Fork of the Poudre River. The hike is about 1 mile long. The majority of the hike is a flat trail along the North Fork of the Poudre River. The last part of the hike is steeper, as we go up the embankment of the dam.

  • 4:00-4:15 Meet at CSU University Village 1600 W Plum by the office
  •      Check in & Load Up
  • 4:15-4:45 Drive to Gateway Natural Area
  • 4:45-7:30 Hike and Picnic
  • 7:30-8:00 Return to CSU University Village
(remember times are approximate and will vary, due to driving and weather conditions---we may arrive home later)

-bring your own pre-cooked supper
-bring your own plates and utensils if needed
-snacks
WATER for yourself--enough water for the event (we are not sure if there is a place to refill water bottles).
